Connected project workspace

Plan a fence from the independent runs you measure.

Add each fence run once, choose your own panel or bay width or custom post spacing, then keep the rounded bays, end posts and optional concrete calculation clear in one local plan.

Fence sections

Add each independent run once. The project totals only sections you include and keeps their rounded bays and end posts visible separately.

Fence section1
Panel or post-spacing plan

Choose one method and enter your own width or spacing. Calculator.Shop does not select a panel, bay or post spacing.

User-added planning items optional

Add gravel boards, post caps, fixings, gates or another item only when you want it in your own list. These rows are never calculated by Calculator.Shop.

Optional post-hole concrete

This remains off until you choose it. If you enable it, enter the post count and hole measurements yourself; no hole depth or concrete choice is assumed.

Notes optional · local only

What does this project calculate?

A traceable material plan.

It rounds each included run against the panel/bay width or post spacing you enter. Every independent section retains its own rounded bay count and end posts. Panel/bay allowance is shown separately and optional post-hole concrete appears only after you enter all of its inputs.

What measurements do I need?

Use the measurements you can check.

Have the length of each intended fence run ready. Choose the panel/bay width or post spacing you are considering. For optional concrete, enter the post count, hole diameter, hole depth, allowance and any bag yield yourself.

What will the result contain?

A supplier-neutral local list.

A browser-local materials list keeps each measured run, total run length, covered-length overrun, bays, posts, panel/bay allowance and optional concrete volume distinct. Visitor-added gates, gravel boards, caps or fixings sit in a separate, not-calculated section.

Fence planning questions

Simple answers before you begin.

What should I measure before planning fence materials?

Measure every independent fence run you intend to include. Record the panel or bay width, or the custom post spacing, that you have chosen for the plan.

How does the workspace calculate fence panels and posts?

Calculator.Shop rounds each included fence section separately against the panel or bay width or post spacing you enter. Each independent section has one post at both ends, so its post count is rounded separately too.

Can I use custom post spacing instead of a panel width?

Yes. Select Custom post spacing and enter the spacing you have chosen. The workspace shows the rounded bays and posts, but it does not turn that choice into a panel recommendation.

Does the project calculate post-hole concrete?

Only when you enable the optional post-hole concrete section and enter a post count, hole diameter, hole depth and allowance yourself. You can optionally enter a bag yield to see a rounded bag quantity.
