Measure the widest internal length and width. For an L shape, measure the full outer rectangle and enter the missing rectangular cut-out. Use clear opening areas for doors and windows.

Follow the same logic
A 4 m × 3 m rectangular room has 12 m² of floor. Its perimeter is 14 m; at 2.4 m high, walls have 33.6 m² before opening deductions.
